I had seen Jantar Mantar in 2006 first. Unlike India Gate, I have visited Jantar mantar only twice.
Jantar Mantar built by Maharaja Jai Singh II from 1724 has 13 Astronomical instruments built to predict the times and movement of sun, moon and planets.
Although I still don’t understand how the instruments work, their unique architectural structure make a wonderful photographic opportunity.
The Samrat Yantra is actually a huge Sundial to tell time. In addition, it is also used for prediction solar bodies movement
A View of the Ram Yantra from outside. Its used to calculate the altitude of the sun. Its actually a twin similar structure.
Inside the Ram yantra. Circular in shape, stone triangle merge at a center pillar in between
Inside the Ram Yantra, looking up

I love the shadows made by the structure
