The memories are fading. I do remember that we had gone to Harlem on a Sunday but the date on my photos says 30 August 2004. 30th August 2004 is a Monday. My best bet is that the date on my Camera was wrong.
I like the statues/sculptures of Netherlands. Most of the time, they are artistic and do not represent anything. Atleast I don’t think it represent any incident in history. The statues are not of any political leaders and present in unlikely of places. Like the one above is present near a cycle stand, under the tree. We had a huge dog statue looking over a canal near our house.
Located on the River Spaarne, Harlem is a very quite town lined with Canals like most dutch towns. On a bright day too, you hardly see any people around.
The quite streets of Harlem near the city center with a lone car and a some cyclist. The streets remind me of those numerous Bollywood movies where the hero-heroine danced on the streets of an European city. When I actually saw those streets, I realized why the actors never looked embarrassed. Nobody around them cared.
The Church at the City centraal. Quite an old church in the middle of the city.
Statue of some historical figure. Statues in Europe have this greenish colour. It is mainly because of the corrosion. Most of the photos I took that day had lot of exposure. They were too bright that I can’t make them look natural
The buildings surrounding the city centraal. European architecture has a beauty of its own.
