The Mozilla Foundation goes commercial with Mozilla Corporation. They still claim that it will remain an Open source Software company where the revenue would be channeled back to the development of Firefox browser.
It has been a year since I started using Firefox. It has already captured 10 percent of the browser market. The problem with Microsoft Internet explorer is that it is a part of the Operating System and very vulnerable to hackers.
As the share of Firefox increases, the attempts to use the security holes of Firefox will also increase. But as of now the going looks good. I hardly use IE. The fact that FireFox offers tab browsing makes my screen look less cluttered. The Opera browser also offered tab browsing but most of the sites were written with IE in mind. Opera did not support many features that IE supported. Firefox on the other hand supports many IE feature in addition to better download manager, Pop-up blockers and other features.
It still needs to go a long way and the way two security updates were released in the last two months, it seems that Firefox is becoming popular.
