Microsoft has renamed the new Windows Operating System as Windows Vista. Earlier it was codenamed Longhorn. I really do not understand or know what Longhorn means but what impact will Vista have on the consumers, only time will tell.
I have been using Windows since I started using computers. I started with Windows 95 and now have Windows XP on my desktop. I remember how I use to install windows 95 with 22 Floppy disks and the total operating system was not more than 150 MB.
Over the years, Windows has grown fat. Now Windows XP takes almost 2 GB of my hard disk. Windows Vista will take more where the new 3D GUI is intended to woo the users. I do agree that my Windows XP crashes less but also at the price of hardware.
Windows Vista will take more memory, more harddisk and definitely a faster processor. What is the advantage?
