I am trying to reproduce it as told by my colleague.
We work for the infrastructure group of our company. In simple terms we ensure that computers and the infrastructure services function the way they are supposed to. The small room on the third floor becomes the hub of activities as the day progresses. The phone on the table starts to ring at 9:00 in the morning and stops at 11 in the evening. We compete with only the reception in terms of number of calls received.
We have a colleague, Veerabhadra. All of us called him Veeru. The phone rings continuously and whoever is near the phone picks it up. The users try to explain and we try to solve the problem on phone or whatever means possible.
That day a user called and Veeru who was near the phone picked it up.
User: Hi, I need some help. My name is Jai
Veeru: Yes tell me. I am Veeru here
User: Kyon maazak karte ho? (Why are you making fun of me?)
The user at the other end exploded. Veeru tried to explain to him that his name was indeed Veeru and he never intended to make fun of him. We had tough time explaining to him that his name was indeed Veeru and we had no intention of making fun of him by linking him to Veeru and Jai from Sholay. It took a while but we did convince him. It was the best laugh we had.
