Saw Spiderman 2 this weekend. Already a lot has been written on the movie, specially how much it has earned in the market. Looking at the movie it is a very good movie and will be appreciated. Spiderman 2 has more emotions than the first one. The action is great. But still its the story that counts. Action coupled with a great story is always a winner.
Toby Mcguire is excellent in terms of Spiderman. He plays the dual role of Peter Parker and Spiderman to the best. A man torn between responsibilities and personal life. The second part takes on where the first part left off. Peter is still confused about Mary Jane, his childhood love. And his life is a mess. Balancing between his job, his college and spiderman, Peter has his hands full. He does not see any point in continuing his crusade for justice when he is the one who is in dire need for help, financially and emotionally. This is where he starts losing his power. He does not believe that he should be Spiderman. The movie is a journey of Peter parker to believe himself.
Hats off to director Sam Raimi for weaving such a good story. The action scenes were too good. Especially the scene where SpiderMan chases Dr Ock through the busy street of New York on the train. Also a scene worth mentioning is the action scene involving Aunt May, where Aunt May is taken hostage by Dr. Ock and taken to a high rise building. The scene is worth watching.
Spiderman 2 succeeds as a sequel, becoming a better movie than the earlier one. If we see other superhero movies like Batman and Superman, Spiderman still retains the old charm of the original one. The main attraction of the movie will be Toby Mcguire. Hopefully he will remain the spiderman for time to come. And the best part of the movie, was after the movie. I got a big Spiderman poster. hooray!!!!!!!!!!
