he 5 second shot – Taken from a bus. The man who framed the Indian constitution stands against the backdrop of seat of law, the Mumbai high court. Unfortunately, Babasaheb Ambedkar is used to keep the caste divide intact. His name is used to play caste politics and no one follows his ideals anymore
After almost 4 months, the Taj still stands strong.
Mee Shivaji Raje Bhosale boltoy. The great maratha warrior. He single handily laid the foundation of the maratha empire. Unfortunately those after him could not retain the glory. The history of India would have been different had he been alive.
The King overlooking the empire. Chatrapati Shivaji against the backdrop of Gateway of India.
The view of Mumbai from Hanging Gardens. At one time, the whole horizon was predominant with textile mills and chimneys. Times have changed. Mumbai is becoming Shanghai and I can’t see the sky standing below those buidings
Mhataricha Boot – Old woman’s shoe. The first time I saw that shoe, I was small, maybe 7-9 years old and that is the only time I have seen the shoe. The last time I saw it, I had climbed up. Now they have restricted me as I have crossed 12 years. When I was 8-9 years old, we were the only people inside. It was not this crowded.
The 5 second photo – Taken from the bus. The Haji Ali is quite unique. It stands in the middle of the sea and although, its a mosque, people of all religion visit it. The late afternoon sun makes it look quite dark and I just managed to capture it between two lamp posts. As I said, its a 5 second shot.
Small balloons resembling monkeys somersault over the Juhu beach against the evening sky.
Kala Bandar – Bahar hai ya Andar? There is a story that goes for Hanuman. Hanuman once fancied the sun and thought of it as a delecious fruit. He leapt into the sky and tried to eat the sun. If it would not have been a blow from Indra, the king of gods, Hanuman would have eaten the sun. No connection with the photo here and yet it looks like the monkey god leaps again to catch a plane perhaps. Two shadows against the evening sky.
It was supposed to be Poonam holding the sun in her hand. The “Special effect” did not make it or did it?
Its almost gone. The final moments of a sunset
Juhu Beach. Lots and lots and lots of people.
Its a jungle out there!
Fully clothed people hanging around on beaches and frollicking in water aswell.
“It happens only in India..”
p.s. : Found the bandar shaped baloons amusing.
Come to think of it.. there’s a kumbh mela happening every day in Mumbai. The crowd ! the crowd ! the crowd !
Personal space is just a myth in a bustling metropolis like Mumbai.
Hey, im a true blue Mumbai-ite and am loving ur Mumbai darshan pics – especially as i had to move out of the city. I knew i hated growing up and getting married…as much as i love that mad city and all it is.
Ps: Juhu beach was a regular hangout – man did we mock all the touristy people there just standing looking at other people!
