The love for music is universal. Almost everybody likes some form of music. Over the years, I have loved a lot of songs. Somewhere down the road, many of these songs have become hits. I don’t have a favorite song as such but I have a whole list. Being a hit means that a song is loved by many people. Also it means that it is heard more number of times than normal. I have found myself falling out of love toleoverplayed songs so much so that I wished they had never become such a hit.
And there are some songs which never become hit for some reason of the other. The lyrics are good, the song is good, the singer has sung it well but then it does not work with the people. Over a period of time, it gets lost in time somewhere and when you hear it once in a blue moon, its bliss. These songs could have been hits and for some reasons, they never were or they did not enjoy the success that they deserved.
This is about those songs;
The Bhoole bisare Geet, The lost songs!

JoSH is a Canada based India-Pakistan band. They are more popular for singing with Nelly Furtado for the desi mix of “Powerless”. But long before that, they sang the most wonderful song of all titled “Kabhi”. MTV playd this song excluisvely for 10 days in 2004 when it was released. At one moment it was very popular but pop albums lose thier charms quite fast in India and so Kabhi went into oblivion faster. I had just gone to Amsterdam then and the rare time I heard the song, I was mesmerized. The song about lost love and friendship touches the heart. Shot in a cafe most probably in Canada, it shows friends sitting together and having a good time.
The good thing about “Kabhi” is that its not a remix album like countless Hindi pop album nor does it has the western touch. It remains true to its root. The other pop singers that have a similar attitude is Euporia and Lucky Ali and not to forget Strings.
I can hardly find someone who does not like this song. Lost in time, it evokes fond memories. Friday night as we worked late in the office, someone played the song on the PC. Even though quite late in the night, the song echoed in the room and then everyone went in the Sing-along mode. Not many knew the lyrics but it did not matter. The way it is sung makes it more pleasurable to hear. We played the song twice before switching to the next song
As for the video, watch out for the girl between 3:12 - 3:17. Nice smile and great presence! She appears couple of times more in the song.

Lyrics: Qurram Hussain (Known as Q)
Singer: Qurram Hussain and Rupinder Magon (Known as Rup)
Kabhi, mai na chahun koi khushi
(never have I wished for happiness) - qna mai chahoon ye zindagi,
(nor do I wish to live this life) - qmere dil me teri kamee
(my heart is lacking your presence) - qHar sama, har pal hai koi kadam
(every moment, every second there is a step to take) - qHar dil ki chahat magan
(every heart’s wish is bliss) - qDar dar ke guzray janam
(lifetimes have passed in fear) - qJunglon aur samundaron mai samee
(it exists in the depths of the forests and oceans) - ruphai rahatain jo milain na kabhi
(these peaceful moments that I dream of and have yet to experience) - rup
(Chorus)Iss haseen samay ki ye rahat samaj me anay lagee
(I’m just starting to understand the freedom of this beautiful moment) - qbanjaay gee ye khushi, miljae gee ye khushi
(This will become my happiness, I will achieve this happiness) - qkitnay samay guzar gaye, bichar gaye iss samay
(So many moments have passed, lost forever looking for this moment) - qbanjay gee ye zameen
(this will become my foundation for life) - qKabhi mai chahoon sab ke liye,
(Sometimes, I wish for everyone) - qkhul jaye dil me chupay, chotay chotay gham ke gilay
(People will bring out their small complaints that keep them sad) - qoh kabhi, mai chaoon tere liye,
(Sometimes, I wish on your behalf) - qmai chahoon mere liye, jo gaon sab ke liye
(I wish for myself, What I sing about for everyone) - qJunglon aur samundaron mai samee
hai rahatain jo milay na kabhi(Chorus)
Iss hasee samay ki ye rahat samaj me anay lagee
banjay gee ye khushi, miljae gee ye khushi
kitnay samay guzar gaye, bichar gaye iss samay
banjay gee ye zameeBridge
iss samay ki alishaan
(Fueled With this moment’s awesome…) - qunchaaye ki taran, gao mai ab yea yea yea
(energy and zest , I sing now yeah yeah yeah) - qrok muj ko mere khuda
(Stop me my lord) - qhameshan aur sada, gao zara yea yea yea
(Always and each time, sing a little bit yeah yeah yeah) - qhoon diwana mai tera, diwana tu mera
(I’m an admirer of you, and you of me) - rupkamoshi hai yahan
(There is serene silence here) - q
(Chorus)Iss hasee samay ki ye rahat samaj me anay lagee
banjay gee ye khushi, miljae gee ye khushi
kitnay samay guzar gaye, bichar gaye iss samay
banjay gee ye zamee
