Earlier known as “The Miss Hits”, henceforth the series will be called “Bhoole Bisare Geet”
The love for music is universal. Almost everybody likes some form of music. Over the years, I have loved a lot of songs. Somewhere down the road, many of these songs have become hits. I don’t have a favorite song as such but I have a whole list. Being a hit means that a song is loved by many people. Also it means that it is heard more number of times than normal. I have found myself falling out of love to these overplayed songs so much so that I wished they had never become such a hit.
And there are some songs which never become hit for some reason of the other. The lyrics are good, the song is good, the singer has sung it well but then it does not work with the people. Over a period of time, it gets lost in time somewhere and when you hear it once in a blue moon, its bliss. These songs could have been hits and for some reasons, they never were or they did not enjoy the success that they deserved.
This is about those songs;
The Bhoole bisare Geet, The lost songs!

Vijay Anand’s “Guide” was a good film with good songs. It had superhit songs like “Kaaton se kheench ke yeh aachal”, “Kya se kya hogaya?”, “Din Dhal jaye”, “Piya tose naina laage” and “Tere mere sapne”. All these songs are still considered to be classic and they truly are
The movie starts with Sachin Dev Burman singing the beautiful “Wahan Kaun Hai tera”. I saw Guide in parts but I saw the starting credits only once and the first song of the movie mesmerized me and yet this song just doesn’t make it. Almost nobody will think about the song when they think about “Guide” Years later when I compiled my favorite songs in a music cassette, this was the song I wanted. When I gave my list of songs to the shopkeeper, he said he would really have to try for some of the songs like this one.
The reason I guess the song was not shown when “Guide” was shown was because the song appears during the opening credits. In the age of “Chitrahaar”, this song was not played. I like the song very much. First it has the S D Burman singing with his different voice. His song from “Bandini” is more favorite and popular.
And yet I like this song very much. Its about loneliness and lost dreams. Its about being brave and yet its about helplessness and its about fate. The lyrics, the music and everything is just fantastic. A true classic

Wahan kaun hai tera, musaafir, jaayega kahaan Dum lele ghadi bhar, ye chhaiyaan, paayega kahaan Wahan kaun hai tera, musaafir, jaayega kahaan vahaan kaun hai tera..................... Beet gaye din, pyaar ke palchhin Sapna bani woh raaten Bhool gaye woh, tu bhi bhula de Pyar ki woh mulaaqaaten, Pyar ki woh mulaaqaaten Sab door andhera, sab door andhera, Musafir jaayega kahaan Koi bhi teri, raaha naa dekhe Nain bichhaaye naa koi Dard se tere, koi naa tadpa Aankh kisi ki naa royi, Aankh kisi ki naa royi Kahe kisko tu meraa, kahe kisko tu meraa, Musaafir jaayegaa kahaan Ho o o o, musaafir, tu jaaye gaa kahaan Kahate hai gyaani, duniya hai paani Paani pe likhi likhaayi Hai sabki dekhi, hai sabki jaani Haath kisike naa aayi Haath kisike naa aayi Kuchh teraa naa meraa, kuchh teraa naa meraa, Musaafir jaayegaa kahaan
