We saw the Red Fort on the last day of the Delhi trip. The Red Fort has its political and historical significance. It was the seat of power during the uprising of 1857. Also the Indian Prime Minister addresses the nation from the Red fort. The Red Fort as its name suggest is red in colour. The Red fort or Lal Qilla is big and grand. The Fort build by Emperor Shahjehan was built for maximum comfort. Close to the river Yamuna, it was a strategic location in terms of military and comfort.

Information about Khas Mahal
Once upon a time, the walls of the Khas Mahal were gold plated. Invaders over the centuries looted all the gold. Today, the Indian government has arranged for a small part to be gold plated just for example. India was once known “Sone ki Chidiya” (the bird of gold)
The Peacock Throne was situated here. It had the famed “Kohinoor diamond”. The Diamond is now part of the crown of the Queen of England.
The inside of the Rang Mahal, the residence of the Emperor’s daughter. The unique marble design coupled with water from Yamuna kept the palace cold during summer and hot during winter.
The walls and ceiling of Rang Mahal were decorated with diamonds and precious stones and mirrors to reflect light. Now its just blank designs

The big building is the Hamam, also known as the bathing space of the Emperors and royal family. My house is not even half of this building.
