Remember "Di Di's Comedy Shows" and "Telematches" from Transtel Cologne Germany? "Different Strokes" from US? "Oshin" from Japan? "Fairy Tale Theatre" from Britain? "Cosmos" from Soviet Union, i presume? Remember Agatha Christie's Poirot? Star Trek? Although the past always appears to be more perfect than the present, but for most of us, born in early 80s era of controlled access to infotainment, doordarshan did everything it could, to keep us close to our televisions , and to our moral ethics and our roots. which todays tv channels with all their money, TRPs and glamour, can never achieve. we were lucky to have experienced the golden age of indian television. thanks doordarshan for making our childhood so memorable..
