I had trouble keeping my eyes open on Friday in the office. The morning flight from Delhi was at 5:20 AM and I had left for the airport at 3:00 AM with almost no sleep. Three days in Delhi was fun and coming back to routine was equally painful. By mid-day, I was literally sleeping on my seat and told my colleague that I will be going home.
The reason for my exhaustion was that the family is in India and I have been traveling since the last two weeks. I have been to Shirdi on 26th December and then to Delhi on the 1st day of the new year. I was tired but it was worth a trip. I came back on Friday only to know that I had to fly to Bangalore for a training for one week. Its said that whatever you do on the first day of the year, you continue doing it for the whole year. Is the myth true?
I have been associated with Pray Foundation from the time of its birth. I have been a witness if not a participant of its growth from an idea to an entity. 2nd January is Vijay’s and Ranjana’s wedding anniversary and it was on this day this year that the first project kicked off in Dibai, a small town near Bulandsaher in Uttar Pradesh.
Pray Foundation has been Vijay’s dream and he has relentlessly followed it. The growth has been slow and with funds coming slower, it has been a baby step every time. Last year he bought the land to build a school and a general Health Center. On 2nd January 2008, the foundation stone was laid for the first construction on the land, a small temple of Sai Baba.
Hopefully with funds the school should be coming up soon.
A small havan was organized on that day and bhandara for the people of Dibai. Bhandara is when food in small quantity is distributed among the passerby. Usually it is of Puri, a vegetable and some sweets. The food is arranged on a table and people are stopped and requested to have food before proceeding. Not only passerby, but cars and even people from buses are stopped and fed.
It looks like utter chaos from far away and yet organized voluntarily so that everybody has food.
Any kind of help would be highly appreciated and who would like to help, please register yourself on Pray Foundation home page.
It is cold in Delhi but the people are warm. I would have never thought of spending days in Delhi. Destiny lets you meet people you would have hardly thought of meeting. Relationship are formed much stronger than blood relationship. I am much closer to the family than any of my Mausi or Aunty or uncle.
Today is 6th January, Dad’s birthday. We never calculated his age but he would have been somewhere near 70 now. Nobody mentioned his birthday and as always it was a quite birthday.
2007 was not a great year but not bad too. 2008 brings a lot of hope. It has certainly been busy. The next few days would be spent in training without any break and then a new project. The start to the new year has been good and then looking forward to a good year ahead

“I have been associated with Pray Foundation from the time of its birth. I have been a witness if not a participant of its growth from an idea to an entity…” This is not correct. You have not only witnessed but also participated very agressively in its development and helped in the shape we are today. Thanks to you for the words of appreciation, however, I belief this is just the begining and we have miles to go…….
We will meet like minded people on this path and the project will have its success it deserve!!!
My personal thanks to each and everyone who participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony and contributed in whatever manner/way.
Sai Baba bless us all!!
